Our liquid soaps are made according to the traditional method, known as "de Marseille". They are obtained by a saponification reaction of vegetal oils (including olive oil) with potash.
The oils are mixed in a stainless steel cauldron, the potash diluted in water is then gradually added to the oils to start the saponification process.
After saponification, the soap is left to simmer for at least 6 hours to ensure that the reaction is complete. At the end of boiling, the paste is transformed into liquid soap by adding water.
This traditional manufacturing technique is part of a sustainable development approach: low water consumption, moderate heating during the "cooking" of the soap and no discharge into the environment.
It allows the skin to be washed and nourished without damaging or drying it out. Naturally glycerinated, it cleanses gently and is very respectful of sensitive skin because it is much less aggressive and drying than synthetic surfactants.
