A lifelong farmer, Serge Masse has only been an olive grower for 15 years. Between 1998 and 2000, he planted 1,800 trees next to the 5 family olive trees. They have always been known to him. To cultivate his olive groves, he has chosen organic farming. He fed his land with homemade compost and patiently waited for the first real harvest in 2006. Serge is not a man in a hurry. Why rush the cycles when its trees, to be sure, are still there for a few centuries?
Five plots in organic farming, scattered around the town of Mées, around the village of Pourcelles. Les Mées are in Haute-Provence, at the center of a triangle between Manosque, Sisteron and Digne-les-Bains.
Food pairings: On a ricotta or yogurt. With a Greek salad with feta. For dessert on a tart or fruit cake. On a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For Mediterranean breakfasts, on toast in the morning with honey.
Aromatic palette: a very aromatic ripe fruitiness. On the nose, notes of artichoke, fig leaf and ripe banana. On the palate, aromas of dried leaves, pear, almond and green banana. Its very fluid texture gives a fresh and well-balanced whole.
